The erosion is really working away at the shores on Big Bay Point. The movie anatomy of a murder from 1959 was inspired by a murder rooted at this lighthouse. This lighthouse is said to be haunted!
This was taken this past spring on the “sunrise side” of Michigan. I am looking forward to returning to this Lighthouse when we get a good stiff west wind. I missed the last storm that hit here. The near-shore marine forecast was saying 14 waves for this location but it was a constant downpour so had to abort.
